Ludhiana: City residents are seeking from state government to improvise the infrastructure at civil hospital as numbers of things are not available at hospitals which cause problems to the different poor patients.
The visitors are expecting better health services and cleanliness at the civil hospital. Due to non-availability of required infrastructure, doctors and paramedical staff, the serious cases are even referred to PGIMER Chandigarh or Government Hospital at Patiala.
Most of the patients who used to come at civil hospital are from economically weaker section. Importantly, patients are seeking separate heart unit and specialist heart doctors as cardiac treatment is very expensive.
The patients, who could not go out of city for treatment, are either forced to visit big private hospitals in city or they fail to get any treatment.
“My family visits civil hospital always as I could not afford for treatments at other private hospitals or clinics which charge hefty fee for treatment. The health minister should take steps to upgrade the hospital. The ICU should have proper number of ventilators and advanced equipments to conduct various tests”, said Suresh Kumar, who visited the OPD.
