Ludhiana : To catch the customers and earn the living, the shopkeepers even in the old woolen market of the Mochpura, have put up the bills of accepting payments by PayTM, ATM cards and credit cards. It is the only ray of hope for them to attract customers but many people are still not very technology savvy to spend money this way. The number of other shopkeepers in the market have ordered new card swapping machines in order to do business till the problem of cash resolves with the people. Due to cash crisis, they are not receiving any consignments and are not able to give any consignments to other traders in the market, its just turning out as because of the undeclared holidays for them to bear large number of losses at the start of the winter season.
“ Now we are thinking to take the card swiping machines so that we can accept cashless payment as they are not even able to take and give installments”, said a shopkeeper from the Mochpura Bazaar in the old
city market. Even tea stall owners and auto rickshaw drivers are accepting the payment through PayTM, as these days everyone has smartphone. They just install app and take bar code to accept the payment in safe manner. Moreover, there is no chance of theft in this payment mode and at the tea stalls, the problem of customers have got resolved with it as they daily have to face the problem of change in routine days also.
“As each day we have to find change or have to leave the change. Its very beneficial for us to pay through PayTM”, said a group of professional having tea at the city market.
