Ludhiana: An African nationalist, student of Punjab College of Technical College (PCTE), has been booked on the charge of raping his college mate. A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station Sadar on Sunday.
The accused had called the victim at a vacant plot near college.
The accused is a resident of Lesotho in Southern Africa and presently, he is studying at PCTE, Baddowal. He has been identified as Nepo Francis Masaik.
A 21-year-old victim who is also a nationalist of Lesotho and pursuing her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at PCTE stated that she lives in a college hostel.
She alleged that on late night of September 3 the accused called her and invited outside the college to meet. When she came outside the hostel, the accused asked her to come towards Village Jhande.
The victim alleged that the accused was accompanying his friend George and they both were under the influence of liquor. The accused asked her to come with him to drop George at his paying guest accommodation but when she denied, George left the place.
The victim alleged that the accused took her to a vacant plot at Village Jhande and forcibly raped her. Later, the victim informed the police and the police initiated investigation in the case.
SHO at Police Station Sadar said that following the statement they have registered case and launched the manhunt for the arrest of the accused. The accused has fled from his paying guest accommodation.
The police have also informed Embassy about the incident and alerted at Airports as the accused may left the country.
