According to the list of 19 candidates of AAP, four were from Ludhiana which includes Advocate Harvinder Singh Phoolka from Dakha constituency, Ahbab Singh Grewal from Ludhiana West constituency, Harjot Singh Bains from Sahnewal and Gurpreet Singh Lapran from Payal.

In Dakha constituency, Aam Aadmi party (AAP) candidate Harvinder Singh Phoolka and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) sitting MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali will be again in the poll ground in elections of 2017. In the Lok Sabha elections also both the candidates were in fray and lost the elections from Congress candidate Ravneet Singh Bittu. However, Phoolka has got highest number of votes from Dakha constituency. The Congress candidate is still not clear from the Dakha constituency but it is expected that the direct fight would be between Ayali and Phoolka.
Though sitting MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali takes credit of establishing multipurpose sports stadium and bringing other development projects in constituency but Phoolka is known as the popular face for contesting the cases of 1984 Sikh riot victim in Supreme Court.

The wife and brother of Ashu were the councillors from different wards which fall under West constituency. Ahbab Singh Grewal will contest the elections for the first time and hopeful for the victory as the majority of votes in the constituency is of well educated people and the youth. Vikram Singh Bajwa, son-in-law of former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal is expected to be Congress candidate from Sahnewal constituency. In 2012 also, Bajwa had contested the elections but lost from Sharanjit Singh Dhillon. Singer turned politician Satwinder Bitti is also trying her luck to get Congress ticket from Sahnewal constituency.
