Ludhiana: A worker at poultry farm was murdered over monetary dispute in a village near Dehlon on Friday. The body was found from the fields of Khera village. Following the investigation, Dehlon police have registered murder case in this regard.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh.
Bhupinder Singh, owner of poultry farm told the police that Ramesh was worker in his farm. Few days ago he had given Rs.8,700 to Upkar Singh to send the money to his family at his native village. However, Bhupinder did not send the money.
Upkar Singh also works in the same poultry farm.
The complainant, Bhupinder further said that on Thursday, Ramesh demanded his money back from Upkar Singh but no avail. On Friday, Upkar Singh called Ramesh in the fields where his accomplice was also present. Some heated argument took place following which Upkar with the help of his accomplice allegedly murdered Ramesh and dumped the body in the fields.
Following the information, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Rattan Singh Brar along with police team reached the spot and initiated investigation in the case. The police have sent the body to Civil Hospital for conducting the postmortem.
Following the investigation and statement of owner of the poultry farm, a case of murder has been registered against Upkar Singh and his unidentified accomplice at the Dehlon police station.
Investigation Officer (IO) in the case, Jaspal Singh said that they have launched manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
