Patiala: Senior leader of Congress and Patiala MLA Preneet Kaur on Wednesday officially launched the party’s poll song for the forthcoming assembly elections 2017 titled ‘Chahunda Hai Punjab, Captain Di Sarkar’ here in a big way.
Congress leaders and the workers assembled in large numbers at New Moti Bagh Palace, the residence of Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh, to make the show a big success. On this occasion, a mini truck was used and large speakers were fitted onto it so that the people could listen to the song of the party.
Preneet felt encouraged after having a look at the party workers who came there on cars and motorcycles in large numbers and the event took the shape of a political rally as well.
Preneet flagged off the mini truck with other vehicles following it and it went through all the main bazaars of Patiala and it was received in a big way throughout the route by the party leaders and workers. The procession was well received in the Hindu-dominated areas of the town, Arya Samaj Chowk as the people welcomed it with bursting of crackers. The procession then culminated at Quila Chowk.
After having a look at the support the party procession received in the city areas, an over-enthuastic MLA and wife of the Punjab Congress chief Preneet Kaur commented that after viewing the support of the people especially the young generation it looks that everybody now wanted to see the Congress’ government in the state soon after the 2017 assembly elections. She also assured the people if voted to power after the 2017 assembly elections in the state, the Congress-led government will work for the welfare of its people and serve them in a better way as well.
