Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday made a strong pitch for development and disclosed that the SAD-BJP government had chalked out projects worth Rs 30,000 crore in order to ensure all-round development of more than 12,000 villages of the state.
He laid the foundation stone of a railway overbridge (ROB) to come up at a cost of Rs 60 crore in Faridkot and another ROB to be constructed at Kotkapura, accruing cost of Rs 117 crore
Divulging more, Sukhbir said that the state government would operationalise free medicine shops within the next three months so as to help the poor sections of society. Under the scheme, 33 shops would be opened in Faridkot.
