Ludhiana: High drama was witnessed at office of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) on Tuesday when the residents of ward No.59 protested against LIT Chairman and Area Councillor.
Leading the protest, the former Congress leader Gursimran Singh Mand alleged that councillor Tanvir Singh Dhaliwal has allegedly encroached upon the 8.8 acre land of LIT, which is proposed site of Atal Apartments. The protesters demanded to remove the encroachments.
Mand also demanded from the government to probe that with whose support the illegal vends of vegetables were established on the land and who is taking money from the vendors.
Later, LIT Chairman Subhash Verma pacified the protestors and assured action in the case.
