Ludhiana: A ten-day orientation course on ‘Effective Teaching, Research and Extension’ began in the Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, College of Home Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). As many as 25 participants from different departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Regional Research Stations of PAU are attending the course. This course has been designed to equip the newly recruited faculty of the University with the effective performance of their duties as a teacher, researcher, guide and extension personnel.
Inaugurating the course, Dr G.K. Sangha, Dean, College of Home Science and College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, appreciated the diverse content of the course. She motivated the participants with the hope that they would feel more empowered and inspired to take up the challenges of their jobs, and do the things well and better than before.
Dr Kiranjot Sidhu, Senior Scientist-cum-Head of the department said that the course aims at developing an understanding of the basic principles of teaching, research and extension.
Earlier, Dr Sukhdeep Kaur welcomed the guests and the participants. Experts from various departments of PAU, retired members of faculty from the University and other organisations have been roped to engage participants through lectures, practical sessions and discussions.
