Ludhiana: Punjab Congress Express’ a new campaign of Punjab Congress has reached Ludhiana East Assembly Constituency on Monday, to propagate the vision of the Congress party, while highlighting “anti-people” policies of the state government.
A series of meetings were held in Ludhiana East Assembly Constituency. MP from Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh Bittu; MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu; the party’s senior vice president Dr Amar Singh; district president Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, and Youth Wing president Rajiv Raja travelled in a bus and attended the meetings.
Bittu said that the motive of this campaign is to reach every house and appealed the people to form Congress government in 2017 and to put the Punjab on the track of development again.
Gogi said that on the first day of start of campaign, four meetings were held in which several issues, including unemployment, drug menace, civic issues and others were discussed.
The campaign would continue for 37 days and the Congress Express will move to other constituencies of Ludhiana district, added Gogi.
During the meetings, the contenders of party tickets also showed their strength in presence of senior leaders. The campaign is a brain child of Prashant Kishore, political strategist appointed by the state Congress.
