Ferozepur: The public of Kashmir valley has been deprived of the facility to travel in the trains since July 9 this year as the Railways had to stop the trains due to unfavourable circumstances in the valley in the wake of Burhan Vani’s death.
During last two months the separatists have been causing loss to the railways in the valley that caused inconvenience to the public as well as the railways. The Jammu Kasmir government has been demanding to re-start the rail services for many days, but the railway department could not do so as it was not in the position to run the rails on damaged tracks.
A senior Railway Official told that Union Home Ministry had sent instructions to the railways to re-start the services in the valley for which the armed forces would look after the rails, its tracks and provide the security. “The railway department would run the trains under the surveillance of the armed forces in the state. But before this, the railways have to repair and maintain the tracks and other resources of the railways,” he said.
