Patiala: A rape case in Samana took a curious turn on Thursday, as 20 year rape victim approached Samana City Police with a complaint alleging that some persons had got her signatures on a plain paper and now through those papers they were trying to hush-up the case showing a ‘fake compromise.’
The victim said she was interested in getting justice through the trial of two accused, who have got bail through those papers.
With wet eyes, the victim recollected that Kala Singh and Mangal Singh had committed the crime on her by forcefully taking her from the gate of the house to a shop nearby.
She said her father, a small time worker, had lodged the complaint with the Police and the Panchayat the same day, August 12 (2016). The Police had registered the rape case and had nabbed one of the accused, Kala Singh. The second accused, Mangal Singh was caught next day.
She alleged that her family was allegedly approached by three persons namely Premi Rulda Singh, his wife and the Sarpanch of the village Bathoi, Manjit Singh and she was asked to sign some of the plain papers in a room near the court. She said she knew nothing about it and they took her signatures, creating a lot of pressure.
She said after some days, both the accused were surprisingly released from jail.
The victim and her father said they later came to know that the three, who got her signatures on the paper, were allegedly paid some money for the ‘fake compromise’.
They approached the Police against these three persons and also sought action against the accused.
When contacted, Premi Rulda Singh said he did not have any knowledge of the matter. When told that a complaint had been lodged with the Police over ‘fake compromise’, he said he would appear before the Police and give his statement there.
The Incharge of Samana City Police Station, Gurpartap Singh said that he had received a complaint about this matter. DP
