Ludhiana: The owner of city’s leading restaurant chain namely Basant Resorts, Kawalpreet Singh alias Minta has been booked for allegedly fraud on the pretext of getting Rs.6.20 lakh for arranging admission in sacred Heart Convent School. The accused also give fake receipts of the school to the complainant.
Following an inquiry, a case has been registered at Police Station, Sarabha Nagar under relevant sections of the IPC.
Jasvir Singh, a resident of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, a complainant in the case stated that he has filed complaint two years ago but the case was delayed for years. In his complaint, he alleged that Kawalpreet had assured him admission of his two children in Sacred Heart Convent School and had taken Rs.6.20 lakh in few installments.
Despite the academic session was started in the school, the accused failed to get his children admitted. The accused also gave him forged receipts of the school, alleged Jasvir. Later, he demanded his money back but the accused started ignoring his phone calls, said Jasvir.
A case has been registered at Police Station Sarabha Nagar under Sections 420 (fraud), 465 (punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of the IPC.
Investigation Officer in the case at Police Station Sarabha Nagar said that investigation in the case is on and they would made arrest after completing the investigation.
