Ferozepur: There was a panic among the construction contractors, some officials of the municipality and MCs after the sudden raid made by the Vigilance department to check the roads and the sewerage works in the area of two wards. The Vigilance teams were seen digging the roads to get the samples of the material used in the construction of the roads and the Sewerage in the city.
It is pertinent to mention here that a complainant Ashok Kumar had made a written complaint with the chief Director of vigilance in which he had accused to use the sub standard material below the specifications of the government and the un even level of the sewerage laid down in the ground without getting the proper water level that had varied ups and downs in level from many places. Watching the seriousness of the complaint and responding to it positively, a team headed by Inspector Kuldeep Singh Walia on Tuesday visited the Icchewal Road, Kundan Nagar, Satluj Enclave and road of Guru ram Dass Nagar, they dug the roads and the sewerage from some points and got the samples of the material used in the construction. Talking to the Daily Post Inspector Kuldeep Singh told that Ashok Kumar named citizen had accused in his complaint about the usage of sub standard material in the roads, Interlocking tiles and the sewerage system.
He told that all these samples would be sent to the laboratory and after getting the result only they would respond accordingly. It is to be told that all these areas belong to the ward No. 22 and its adjoining area to nono payment by the bank inspite of having deposit of above Rs. 5 lac
