Jalandhar: In major breakthrough, the local police have busted a gang of highway robbers with arrest of four members on Thursday. During the operation two of the accused managed to doge the police and fled from the spot, meanwhile the police recovered the illegal weapons from their possession.
While revealing the information, ACP Investigation Sandeep Sharma that the arrested gang members were engaged with Bhalu Gang, infamous for robberies and similar crimes. He added that following the tip off information the police managed to apprehended the gang from an isolated while planning for dacoity. CIA Inspector Angrej Singh and his police party conducted the raid over the suspected places.
“We have recovered one country-made pistol,two automatic mousers, sharp edged weapons, live cartridges and 75 gm of drug powder along with a sedan car from their possession. The accused were the history-sheeters and are wanted criminal in different police stations of Jalandhar.” DCP Sandeep said.
Those arrested were identified as Ajay Sehdev @ Ajay Suniara of Jandiala Manjaki,Rajinder Singh @ Neki,Harmandeep Singh and Narinder Singh of Bilga Village.Those escaped were identified as Amadeep Singh and Gagandeep Singh both of Talwan Village of Jalandhar.
The arrested gang members are part of famous Bhalu Gang and looted several car drivers on National Highway 1.They were planning to loot a petrol pump when they were arrested.All four have been booked u/s 399,402,25-54-59 Arms Act & NDPS Act.
