Ludhiana: It’s time to say good bye to the winters on a happy note. City residents are ready to welcome the spring season with the upcoming month. 25 Degree Celsius with proper sunlight during day time was witnessed in the city, which was not expected, as last year till March, the weather was cold but the residents were seen happy with the temperature.
During last week, maximum and minimum temperatures were above normal but during last 2-3 days it lowered down to some extent. Now it is near to normal and is expected to remain clear and dry in coming 2-3 days in Punjab. So, the farmers are advised to give need based irrigation to wheat and sugarcane crops.
Farmers are advised to monitor wheat and mustard fields regularly to check the incidence of aphids. Overall the growth and development of Wheat and Mustard crops is good. There is no need to worry but farmers are advised to monitor their crops regularly.
According to experts of Metrology Department, “The weather is expected to remain clear and dry in Ludhiana and its adjoining areas during the next 24 hours.”
Rekha, a city resident said, “With the end of February month, I am done with packing of winter attire to put in the wardrobes and unpacking of spring ones. The blankets and quilts are also wrapped till next winters. No doubt, the spring season is also the pleasant one for the people but winters ended very early, as last year in the month on March, city temperature was a bit cold.”
