Mohali: Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal Inaugurated Mohali’s new District Administration Complex on 25th August last week. After seven days passed, new district administrative complex “DAC” is still under process of shifting offices.
DP correspondent visited the new DAC on Thursday, where shifting is on full swing. On one side some officers are happy to enjoying new office rooms along with new furniture. But others are seeking funds from government for new furniture for them. Ministerial staff also has to work with same old furniture presently.
It is pertinent that Old DC complex had very small rooms space wise but new DAC has large rooms in huge complex. Therefore old furniture is not enough for new large rooms. Most of the rooms seem empty due to that reason.
As far as common public is concerned, they are roaming here and there in new DAC because no appropriate information boards are displayed yet. Some employees on the condition of not disclosing their name told Daily Post that even some departments are yet to marked space. They even don’t know about their office floors. Meanwhile common people including senior citizens and women were in dark to locate the offices.
Due to shifting process, office records and files etc are packed and could not be opened. In some offices fitting work is under process.
