Water logging, a major problem during rainy days has become a perennial problem as most awaited storm sewerage project is not even in a comprehensive planning of Municipal Corporation. The project is in a dire need as many leaders and government have talked about the issue but never made it on ground. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, majority of the development projects are under pipeline and many of them are not even initiated. This time opposition parties are having so many allegations to put over the government as myriad of development works are hanging on fire.
Water logging has become ubiquitous as during rainy days most of the posh area and different roads and streets of old city areas got stranded with traffic due to heavy logging. Numerous of road cave-ins have been developed in the past after the rainfall in the city but government is least interested to come up with the solution of this perennial problem.Already, damaged part of Gill Road Bridge in the past had made a tough time for the commuters and recently footpath of Jagraon Bridge towards Vishavkarma Chowk was caved in. These cave-ins at different locations in the city have made herculean time for the people to cross from these directions.Matter had been highlighted by the passerby but department was still not aware about all these things. Every year rainfall predicted by metrological department of Punjab Agricultural University but still authorities failed to come up with the solution.

Congress government has not even pursued that have totally snubbed the projects and laid down the public money into wastage. Congress government is only befooling the people and shut down number of running projects that was initiated by Akali Dal government.”On contacted Ravinder Garg, Executive Engineer said, “MC is now not having any plan or project for installation of storm sewerage system but earlier there were talks for this storm sewerage system.”
