Ferozepur: Due to lack of teachers in primary schools, Punjab Government had recruited many Sikhya Providers who had been doing their jobs from past 10 years.
The Sikhya providers had continued their stir for 419 days at Mohali and the government had promised to regularize their services but till date no step has been taken by the government. The worst side of this is that the state government did not paid their salary from six months.
As a result Sikhya providers had been facing a severe financial trouble and had been forced to starve.
Even, as they have no money to purchase the general commodities for daily needs and medicines for their families.
Many of the employees could not pay the fees of their children and the school managements had warned that their wards will not be allowed to sit in the exams.
President of the union Jasbir Singh added that they had been left to cry or commit suicide due to financial crisis.
