Ludhiana: The surprise raids would be conducted by the railway catering staff in the Shatabdi Express in coming days to check food quality as from the last one month number of complaints were registered by the passengers on New-Delhi Amritsar route and vice versa.
The passengers travelling in the Ludhiana-New Delhi Shatabdi Express complained about poor quality of food being served to them in the Shatabdi Express from the past one month. The passengers rue that instead of improving quality of food is deteriorating with the each passing day, as in winters they are being served cold snacks and food in the train.
A businessman, Ranjit Singh who frequently travels Shatabdi Express rue, “Every week I travel Shatabdi Express but the food quality of Basant is not very good. As number of times, earlier, also we complained about it to the railways authorities and they were found equally in tension about this problem as maximum passengers daily complain them about it”.
“The railway authorities must set the food right, otherwise, there is no need to serve the poor quality food. As with each passing day, quality of food is deteriorating instead of improving and in winters they are serving us cold snacks and food.
We have been given the cold petty, sandwiches that were not in condition to be eaten. We have not eaten even a single bite of it and instead of wasting money like this railways should not provide us food”, he added.
