Ludhiana: Due to non-availability of blood platelets in Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, 22-years-old Noorsad of Janakpuri died on Wednesday late evening.
It was a suspected dengue death.
The health department officials, however, claimed that it was not confirmed that the deceased was suffering from dengue as the department was yet to take the blood sample for dengue test.
However, the department confirms low number of platelets.
The relatives of Noorsad claimed that when platelets were asked from civil hospital authorities, they claimed that they do not have B positive blood group.
Meanwhile, Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Civil Hospital, Ludhiana Sukhjeevan Kakkar said that they have never refused any patient for platelets but somehow there is non-availability of particular blood count.
