Ludhiana: Visitors coming to the Suvidha Centre at the Mini Secretariat have many reasons to blame the authorities for, as they are a harried lot due to lack of facilities at the centre. Visitors have to wait for long in the queue which is the regular problem because their is shortage of staff, people use to come from far places have to come regularly and have to waste many days for their turn.
Many times people have to wait for a lot of time because of frequent internet server problem. On rainy days, water gets stagnant on the road outside the centre, thus creating problem in crossing the area. Agents at Suvidha Centre are another major reason due to which visitors have to face several problems in dealing directly with the officials present at the centre to get their work done.
While many of the visitors at Suvidha Centre raised the issue of shortage of staff as people have to wait for many days for their turn. One of the visitors claimed that few of the staff members at Suvidha Centre are very rude due to which they have to face several problems. Sonu Kumar, resident of Sherpur Road said, “I am waiting for my turn from past two days as I am coming here regarding the application for schedule caste certificate. This is my fifth day that I am coming regularly but today staff member claimed to bring one more certificate. Now I have to stay in queue again for my turn for many days.”
He added that there is no cooperation from Suvidha Centre employees, as no one guides the visitors properly due to which they end up getting their work done with help of agents. Moreover, employees are aware about the agents, but they do not help us. Another visitor Sahil Singh said, “Due to problem in the internet at the centre, visitors have to wait in queues or have to go back without getting their work done many times. This is sheer harassment of public, and the department should take note of this problem.” Jarnail Singh, administrator at Suvidha Centre was not available for comments. Ravi Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner said, “A total of 193 seva kendras are in the pipeline for the Ludhiana district and soon they will be established then people will not suffer from any problem”.
