Ludhiana: With paints and colours all around, groups of volunteers participated in the beautification drive organized by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation on Sunday at Samrala Chowk Underbridge. The Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and MC Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori also tried their hands at painting and participated along with volunteers.
Meanwhile the M C Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that event was organized to give citizens and volunteers a chance to paint their imagination and become a part of beautification drive.
Harpreet Soin from Ludhiana Cares Ladies Society said, “We find Municipal Corporation taking proactive steps to improve the cleanliness and beautification initiatives in the city. As citizens we stand by them and will continue to support the efforts of MC.”
A professional artist from team Karuja Shivam Pahwa who has made graffiti on city walls and bridges informed that pillars of Underbridge have been painted with themes like women empowerment and wall of revolution. He said that volunteers were also given a chance to paint so as to encourage them.
Divanshu a student and volunteer said, “I had seen it on the Facebook page of Smart City Ludhiana that such event is planned and I wanted to contribute in the beautification of city so I came here.”
The artists including Shivam Pahwa, Sukhvinder, Sukhjit Singh (Designer), Sneha, Sanjana, Aryan, Chitrith, Surjit, Priyanka, Ankit and many more. The volunteers were Dr. Anjuman, Dr. Meera Nagpal, Dr. Sunaina, Dr. Anita Khurana, Arti Malhotra along with kids- Zaira, Riaz, Ruheen and many more.
