Bathinda: Police have registered two cases against unknown persons for threatening the transporters and employees of the refinery.
Charanjit Singh, police have registered a case under Sections 341 and 506 of the IPC against 15 unknown persons. The complaint alleged that on August 8 around 10.45 pm, some unknown persons stopped a bus deployed for ferrying the employees and threatened them.
In another case, police booked 11 unknown persons under Sections 384, 511, 448, 427, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC on a complaint by Chief Security officer of the refinery, Arvinder Kumar.
The complainant alleged that on August 26, unknown persons were tried to collect `500 per truck outside the refinery and when the amount was not paid by the transporters, they damaged the trucks.
Notably, a tussle is going on between Rama Mandi truck union and transporters been allotted the work of transporting Sulphur, Pet Coke and Polypropylene in open body trucks from the refinery.
The truck union has been demanding preference to their vehicles in ferrying the products.
