Jagraon: The Jagraon police have arrested two alleged members of Bambiha gang. The accused have been identified as Harwinder Singh alias Happy and Amandeep Singh alias Amna, both the residents of Pattohira village of Moga district. With the arrest of these two accused, the local police have also claimed off solving the incident of looting a Toyta Fortuner SUV near Jagraon some time back.
The accused were arrested by a police team from CIA Staff Jagraon. Giving the details, SSP Jagraon Opinderjit Singh Ghuman said the accused were arrested by a police team led by CIA Staff Incharge Inspector Rajanparminder Singh following a tip-off. The police have also recovered a Wolksvogen Polo car (PB 29 W 0893) from the accused.
The police also recovered a Mahindra Scorpio SUV (PB 29 P 9291) which was allegedly used for looting a Fortuner SUV on gunpoint near Jagraon some time back. According to police, the Fortuner SUV was looted on gunpoint by four members of the gang. “The police have arrested two gang members involved in that loot while another gang member Davinder Singh Bambiha was killed some time back. Another member of the gang Sukhpreet Singh alias Budha has been absconding,” said SSP Opinderjit Singh Ghuman.
Later on the accused were produced before a local court which awarded two days police remand of the accused. Some more revelations are expected from the accused during the further questioning by the police.
