Ferozepur: Activists of the unemployed PTI Teachers union (Be Rozgar PTI Adhyapak Union) staged a protest in the constituency of Deputy Chief Minister’s constituency Jalalabad on Sunday and given a warning that if the government did not agree to their demands, the union would not allow the ministers to hoist the National Flag on August 15.
The spokesman of the union said that the Punjab Government advertised on 9-5-2011 to fill the 646 posts of PTI. But till today even after completion of 5 years of SAD and BJP alliance the government has not recruited even a single person as PTI teacher according to that advertisement.
Many meetings with the education Minister and Chief Minister have been held in the past but no result has come except for false assurances. The union held a Morcha for 1 month at Bhuvir village in Mansa district, resulted in a written test imposed on these posts by the government.
Favouring the agitation of the PTI teachers the Punjab Youth Congress General Secretary Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy said that all these agitating members are Gold and silver medalist in sports and have made Punjab proud but no sincere effort has been made by the government.
The union demands that the posts be filled on merit basis. If the govt. fails to agree to our demands in the next ten days than the agitation will be made more sever and on 15 August no minister shall be allowed to hoist the National Flag.
