Ludhiana: Zero tolerance against traffic violations, the traffic police set up special check points in the city and imposed 462 challans for different traffic violations.
The police have also slapped challan on the vehicles of convoy of Uttar Pradesh minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia. However, minister was not sitting in the car but his security personnel were fined for not wearing
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP traffic) Dhruv Dhaiya was himself present on the spot and supervising the drive of traffic police.
According to traffic police, total 462 challans were imposed in the city for different traffic violations.
Out of total 225 were court challan and 237 were settled on the spot.
The traffic officials said that 50 challans were imposed on auto rickshaws, 80 for over speeding, 87 for wrong parking, 168 for without helmet, 51 for without seat belt, 7 for entry in no entry zone and 7 buses were also challaned.

Meanwhile, the traffic awareness was also created by the wing of police and asked the auto rickshaw drivers to follow traffic rules.
