Ludhiana: According to the patients, allegedly doctors’ negligence has forced the patients delivery at an auto rickshaw. This is second in this month that delivery is done in auto rickshaw.
Due to overcrowding of patients at civil hospital, a woman gave birth to a child in an auto rickshaw near civil hospital on Tuesday.
However, two women of Dhandari area including Puspa and Sushma got admitted in hospital but the formalities and test were not done due to overcrowd at hospital.
However, after seeing the reluctant attitude of doctors toward patients, they were forced to move on from hospital. After that they hired auto to go home and Puspa gave birth in auto and they returned back to civil hospital where Sushma gave birth to child.
The relatives of the women alleged that it was negligence of the hospital and any accident might also would have happened. They alleged that the hospital staff forced them to leave the hospital.
Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of civil hospital, Kulwinder Singh said , “Patients have told that they are willing to leave the hospitals and we have signatures of the patients and their relatives”.
Earlier on February 9, a woman Aarti from Sarpanch Colony, Ramgarh also delivered a child in an auto rickshaw after she was referred from CHC Sahnewal to civil hospital Ludhiana but ambulance was not provided and she had to come in an auto rickshaw with Asha worker. She gave birth to the child on her way to the hospital. Both of them were safe, however, family alleged health department of negligence which might have turned fatal.
