Ludhiana: In yet another incident of murder, a 65-year-old lady was brutally murdered in a posh locality of the city on Thursday afternoon. The killers first strangulated the victim and also hit the victim on her head which led to the death. At the time of incident the victim identified as Mridhula Sachdeva, wife of Ravinder Sachdeva, Chartered Accountant, was alone at home situated in Dyal Nagar near Ghumar Mandi.
The two daughters of victim were in abroad. The police claimed that entry in the house was friendly and also ruled out the loot angle behind the killing. Only Activa Scooter parked in the porch of house was missing. According to information, the maid entered in the house at around 2pm and found the victim Mridhula was lying in the pool of blood. She raised an alarm and informed the neighbours. The neighbours rushed to the spot and found that the victim was dead. On being informed the cops rushed to the spot and initiated investigation in the case.
The family members stated to the police that the victim was last seen at 11.30am and later her husband left the house. The maid entered in the house at around 2pm and found the body of victim. Station House Officer (SHO) at Police Division No.8 Gourav Toora said that the injury marks were found around the neck and deep injury mark was also found on the head of victim. The entry in the house was friendly and from the preliminary investigation the loot angle was not suspected, said SHO while adding that they are probing the case from these angles. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against unidentified personsunder Section 302 of the IPC.
