Mohali: The World Scholar‘s Cup 2016 for the first time will be hosted by the city at Learning Paths School, Mohali from 26 August. The two-day scholar’s cup will witness around 280 students from 15 schools across the region.
Recognised as the biggest global academic tournament, World Scholar’s cup combines debate, collaborative writing, multiple choice tests and quizzes on particular theme. The World Scholar’s cup will be declared open by noted international accadmian, Daniel Berdichevsky who has many accolades in his name as an educationist, writer, researcher and strategist based out of USA. The core idea behind this two-days summit is to motivate students to focus not just on their existing skills and strengths, but also to discover new ones. Each year scholars explore a new overarching theme and this year’s theme is – ‘An Imperfect World.’ Within the theme, students have to research on the subject and submit the thesis at the end of the meet. Participation in any regional round , he stated can lead to berths at the Global Round hosted at Yale University in the United States.
Participating countries in this year’s global scholar cup includes Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kenya, Slovenia, Chile, Kazakhstan, Korea, the United States, Australia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, India and others.
